Here comes the Vaccine Administration Act! Implement the "strictest" management system

The 11th session of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC) adopted a law on vaccine management on Monday, which will come into force on Dec 1, 2019. This is a special legislation on vaccine management in China, which responds to the expectations of the people, solves prominent problems existing in vaccine management, and fully embodies the requirements of "four strictest" in the field of medicine and food in the system design.
The Law on Vaccine Management prescribes severe punishment for illegal and criminal acts against vaccines, and stipulates that criminal responsibility will be severely investigated in accordance with the law for vaccine crimes. The punishment of administrative detention is prescribed for those responsible for serious illegal acts. Those who produce or sell fake vaccines shall be fined 15 to 50 times the value of the illegal production or sale of vaccines. Those who produce or sell substandard vaccines shall also be fined not less than 10 times but not more than 30 times the value of the vaccines illegally produced or sold.
